
How did the Treviso Tissue Bank come into being?
- 1992 saw the start of its activities for the collection and preservation of cardiac tissues
- 1994 it was the first in Italy to collect and process vascular tissues
- 1998 it was the first in Italy to collect and process amniotic membrane
- 1999 the collection and processing of bone tissues and tendinous tissues began
- 2000 Regional Authority resolution n. 3948 of 15.12.2000 established the Regional Tissue Bank at the NHS Unit (ULSS) No. 9 in Treviso, to be dedicated to the "selection, collection, preservation and distribution of cardiac homografts, vessel segments, amniotic membrane and bone tissue obtained from cadaveric and living donors"
- 2000 start-up of the tissue retrieval system organized at the hospital to deal with calls within 24 hours
- 2001 adoption of the independent organization by area: logistics, laboratory, collection, communication
- 2002 development of retrieval/collection by region
- 2003 awarding of UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certification for the "retrieval, collection, sampling, processing, storage, validation and distribution of homologous tissues for clinical grafts; and the design and organization of training and communication events"
- 2004 accreditation by the Italian National Transplant Center for activities including: collection of cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal and placental tissue; processing and storage of cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal and placental tissue; distribution of cardiac, vascular and musculoskeletal tissue, and amniotic membrane
- 2004 tissue retrieval activities began in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region
- 2005 tissue retrieval activities began in the Trentino and Marche regions
- 2006 start-up of the service for collecting specific samples at the users’ request
- 2007 start-up of cooperation with the Lombard Regional Authority
- 2008 renewal of accreditation by the National Transplant Center
- 2008 start-up of the European Euro-GTPs project
- 2009 the processing of lyophilized tissue began
- 2011 transformation into "TISSUE BANK FOUNDATION TREVISO"
