Who we are
The Treviso Tissue Bank is a Foundation set up by the Treviso Local Healthcare and Social Hospital Unit no. 2 Marca Trevigiana with the aim of promoting scientific research and healthcare in the field of tissue harvesting and transplantation medicine. The Foundation is tasked with procuring, preserving and distributing homologous donor tissue and certifying their suitability and safety.
The Foundation is tasked with:
- Selecting, harvesting, preserving and distributing cardiac homografts, vascular segments, amniotic membrane and osteo-tendinous (bone and tendon) tissue taken from living and multi-tissue donors;
- Raising public awareness of the great moral value implied in donating tissues;
- Promoting research and studies in the field of surgery and transplantation/implantation, also in partnership with university institutes and local health authorities;
- Stimulating the development of new donor tissue applications.
Vision
To provide services and deliver tissues consistenty in line with surgeon requirements and expectations.
To improve quality of life by increasing the number of people able to take advantage of homologous tissue implantation techniques.
Mission
Our mission is to improve the quality of life of those in need of tissue implantation by meeting the requests of healthcare operators in compliance with statutory regulations (Law 91/99).
